 Why did God create me ?

Have you ever asked yourself this question ? Or are you reading this article because you want to know why you have been created to this world by God. Are you confused about your purpose of being here on earth? This post is for you, read till the end!

Why have I been created ?

God's unique plan

God has a unique plan for each of us and the plan is not outside him, it is within him. You are not the first man to be created. So for the purpose of knowing God's intention and original plan, it is better to go back to the story of the first man-kind creature which is Adam. 

Gen 1: 27-28

 So God created human beings, in his own image. In the Image of God he created them, male and female he created them.

God's plan is to make man look like him, it is to make man have his kind of life that is why he did not only create man in his image, he also gave man his kind of spirit.

 Gen 2: 7 

Then the Lord God  formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostril, and man, became a living being. 

After man disobeyed God because of the serpent's deceit, man now has a different life, life filled with emptiness, an ordinary life, and that is the reason for today's topic. In other word, God's initial plan for man was to make him be like him, live like him, fellowship with him, to be a replica of him (God) on earth . 

What does this means ? We were meant to be special, created to be like him but man lost the status after the fall. Despite the consequences, God's plan still stand. However, this time, it is with another Adam. 

The new Adam is Jesus, now lets go back to our question  "Why did God create me?" The answer is in Jesus Christ. The latter part of Colossians 1:16 says

 .......Everything was created through him and for him

To further understand this above scripture let us read Ephesians 2:10 says                                            

For we are God's masterpiece. he has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.  

We are created for for him. You are created for him. You are God's masterpiece. He has pre-determined your existence in him. One thing I would like you to take from this write-up is that your life is tied up to God and you can only find Him in Christ Jesus John 14:6 says

             I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through  me.              

Very quickly, God does not create something and thereafter start thinking about what to do with the thing he has created. Before he creates you, provisions have been made. He created all things before creating man and thereafter put him in the position of authority over all things he has created. He created you for his glory, praise and unto good works, he created you to bear fruit in him. 

In a nutshell, if you are not yet in him, you are on the wrong path. The first step to knowing why God created you is to come to Christ, accept by faith his death, resurrection and Lordship over your life. Tell him that you are ready to allow him to direct you and live your life for you. 

If you have done that sincerely and prayerfully. Jesus is a faithful Father, he will answer you and will begin to show you his special and unique plan and purpose for your life.
